help identifying an old carpet?

Hello, I need help identifying an old carpet. One of my friends, an Englishman who now lives in Florida, this carpet. It is white with white tassels and a black border around the carpet itself. The design is rather intriguing that red, black and white are the only colors used. Recurring motifs is a black circle in the quarter, red, with two rows of three black triangles with red spots in them, except three flames with lines around them and what looks like three birds and three birds, repeated throughout the carpet .. My Friend was born in Karachi, Pakistan in 1965, and this cover was released to his parents by the friends of Pakistan at the time of his birth ... if anyone can help me know id this coverage, and I give him thank you. We believe it could be a Muslim prayer rug ... peace. The birds have no eyes (the Islamic ban!) Thanks xxx any connoisseur, serious help would be appreciated.
