Help! How do I remove the lacquer in 200 years the carved furniture?
I tried two brands of paint stripper gel, alcohol denatured, naphtha, mineral spirits, acetone, lacquer thinner, paint remover and even a paintball gun, and these things do not go! I restored Antique Furniture in wood for 45 years and have never encountered this problem before. all ideas are appreciated.
I would not. You ruin the value of the item when repainting.
